Marriage Week 9

January 8 - January 14

Our 9th week of marriage was a little different than weeks in the past, it was spent mostly separate! While our dating life was mostly spent traveling for work and meeting up in exciting and new places, since the start of the pandemic we’ve both been essentially grounded from travel (which is a huge adjustment for us… well, at least me). It’s been almost a year since I’ve been to a trade show but this week we are finally out and about at an event down in Tampa.

Date Day: Church + Winery

First this week Kamil took me on a date. I had been getting a little stir-crazy being cooped up so he planned a sweet little date afternoon for us on Sunday. We tried a new church service, Summit Church, which was a good experience. Then after church we drove out to Siler City (about half way between Durham and Greensboro) to a little winery he found called FireClay Cellars! They specialize in making a dry French-style wine… which is right up my alley! We packed a great lunch picnic and enjoyed a beautiful and decently warm day in January sipping, dreaming, and doing our marriage journal.

Thanks to a recommendation by the lady at FireClay, we made one more stop on the way home to this funky “village” which had all sorts of things to experience … from a brewery, a meadery, a farm-to-table restaurant and a few shops, it was an interesting little pit stop ha.

Headed to Florida

I flew down to sunny Florida on Monday the 11th and had a few meetings and prepped for the trade show. Thursday night was our annual partner dinner in which five of our partners and their wives get together to connect and celebrate the highs and lows of the year. While we usually rotate between Eddie V’s and Ocean Prime, this year we switched it up and went to the iconic Bern’s Steakhouse. What an incredible experience. If those walls could talk… they first opened their doors in 1956 and those iconic restaurant walls have seen politicians, celebrities, and maybe even a mobster or two. It was truly a unique and wonderful evening.

Love,
