Marriage Week 15

February 19 - February 25

Zoe Sitting for the Weekend

This weekend my parents were heading out of town so we had Zoe come over for a sleepover. Our apartment definitely doesn’t offer her as much room to run and play as her house, but we still managed to throw the tennis ball for hours! She enjoyed tons of belly rubs, taking ownership of basically every soft cushioned surface in our place, and even got to have her first dog park experience! I think she had a great time.

Girls Tea at the Carolina Inn

A few years ago I joined a small group and in the end there ended up being the “Core 4” who were always there. We became super close friends, walking through the dating season together. We haven’t hung out just the four of us in months, so we coordinated a “Galentine’s Date” by having afternoon tea at the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill. It was a lovely afternoon to catch up on life and enjoy some delicious treats and goodies. Love having these girls to walk through life along.

Finally Sunshine!

After weeks and weeks of rain (seriously, it was beginning to feel like Noah’s Ark around here) we finally had a few days of sunshine. The gray rainy dreary weather can really bring you down after a while. We were so thankful to wake up to the sounds of birds chirping away and the sunlight streaming in through the blinds. What a joyous vision! We took FULL advantage of a few sunny days by taking long daily walks on the Tobacco Trail, walking around a few local neighborhoods and looking at the pretty homes, and even walking to Bruster’s Ice Cream down the road for a mid-day sundae treat.

Bartaco Date Night

For Valentine’s Day my parents sent us a gift card to Bartaco and we went out on Thursday for a date night of tacos and margaritas, yum! My parents had been to a Bartaco up in New York a few years ago and loved it, so when they found out there a few in Chapel Hill and Raleigh, they got us a gift certificate to go try it out ourselves. Oh my gosh, so delicious! We indulged in chips and guacamole, a roasted duck quesadilla, and an assortment of tacos - falafel, pork belly, baja fish and ribeye. Of course we had to try their margaritas too, Kamil had the jalapeno house and I had the pineapple margarita…both of which were delicious.
