December 11 - December 18

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of activities from getting married, to a mini honeymoon, Thanksgiving, to Kamil’s birthday and driving up and down the East Coast. This week was the first week where we were at our home for, well, the first time! This week we even celebrated our first month of married life (yay)! Here’s a little recap of our week.

Crepe Date Night

For my 29th birthday this year Kamil and I were supposed to go to Poland and then to Paris. Since #Rona we were obviously unable to go so Kamil brought Paris to my parents backyard complete with a crepe bar. Kamil decided to have a crepe date night on Friday so we whipped up some savory and sweet crepes! Yum! They’re so easy to make, here’s a similar crepe maker if you’re interested in bringing a little bit of France to your kitchen.

Christmas Light Drive Around

On Saturday we popped back over to Greensboro and went to visit with my friend Sarah and her husband Tyler. It was a belated home warming evening as it was the first time we were both able to get over to their new home! Their neighborhood is very festive and totally gets into the Christmas spirit; this Saturday it was luminary night where all the houses are lit up and luminary lanterns line the streets. We listened to Christmas music and drove around their neighborhood and admired all the beautiful lights.

One Month Anniversary + Zoe’s First Sleepover

On Sunday we had brunch and mimosa’s at my parents house for our ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY! We’ve been married an entire month…what in the world?! This past month has been full of joy and adventure! After brunch we watched church in our comfies and then packed up and headed back to Durham with… Zoe!! We snatched Zoe and brought her to our house for her first sleepover. She had a blast exploring our new home, watching the dogs at the dog park out the window and laying on her new couch. However we quickly learned that she is terrified of our hanging blinds on our back porch, she loves to bark at herself in the mirror reflection in our bedroom, and wants to wake us up with kisses every hour on the hour. Needless to say we didn’t get much sleep the first night, ha! Luckily the second night she did much better (after we covered ALL the mirrors with towels or pillows ha).

Adventure Awaits

We had an absolutely amazing once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon planned to Africa and Mauritius. Obviously that didn’t happen, but we were able to push it back a year. We got this sweet gift from our travel planner, Brianna of Milk & Honey Travels. She was a HUGE help in navigating all of this mess. If you’re looking for someone to help design, curate and execute a travel excursion for you, I would highly recommend checking her out!

Christmas Tea

Mom and I have had a tradition the last few years to always enjoy a Christmas Tea together during the holiday season. This year we went to the O. Henry Hotel for a lovely afternoon tea! Later in the evening we watched our traditional favorite Christmas movie, White Christmas, and had a cozy evening by the fire and sparkling Christmas tree.

Virtual Christmas Party

Just to cap off a bizarre year, our Christmas party this year was a virtual affair. What a crazy year 2020 has been!

Hope everyone has an absolutely lovely week and remember the true peace and joy of this season is His love and goodness.

LOVE,

The Newlyweds K&K
