Marriage Week 13

February 5 - February 11

Here are some of the highlights from our week.

Visited Greensboro to help Dad with the car

One of the things I cherish about Kamil is that he is always willing to help others. He does it for his customers, his friends, and his family. He is a greater fixer upper handy man DIY’er, and if he’s not super familiar with how to fix something he’ll research it until he does. Which is, interesting enough, just like my father. So when my Dad texted Kamil to see if he could lend another pair of hands to fix something on my parents SUV, of course he was all in. So we drove to my parents on Friday and the two of them fixed it in a matter of an hour for a fraction of the price the dealership was going to charge! Then after the little garage work, they treated us to dinner at one of our local Thai spots, 98 Bistro. Yum!

Prep for Western Road Trip

We’re making plans for a big road trip this spring out West to Arizona and Utah. Kamil hasn’t done any hiking or been that far west, so he’s really excited about it. We stopped by REI and did a little shopping and trying on to find some gear for him!

Super Bowl Sunday

While neither of us really cared about the teams playing, Super Bowl Sunday is a great excuse to eat a bunch of junk food and stay in comfy clothes all day…so we did just that! We ordered Dominio’s Pizza, Kamil made homemade guacamole, and I made BBQ meatballs. Combine that with some craft brews and ciders, it was a good night … even if the game was kind of a dud.

Oh and I can’t forget my little at home spa treatment afternoon! Funny story though - Kamil has been having some back issues lately so in the afternoon he laid on the bed and we hooked up this electrotherapy machine to his back. Usually it runs for about 10-15 minutes sending little electrodes into the muscles to help them relax. Well while he was laying down doing that, I decided to do a little pedicure foot treatment. Poured myself a glass of wine, put on these plastic pedicure treatment sock things and put on some HGTV. Well a few minutes in Kamil was calling me because he can’t take the little electropads off himself. Didn’t think that one through —- here I was with slippery plastic bags full of lotion on my feet trying to shuffle through the house and help him, all while trying not to slip and kill myself. I was laughing so hard the entire way, Kamil having no idea what on earth was so funny. Then he saw me and was like what in the world is on your feet?! Ha. Luckily we both survived…and I was able to finish my pedicure in peace. Didn’t turn out half bad for an amateur job!

Travel to West Palm Beach

Headed to another event and trade show this week in West Palm Beach Florida where the temperature was 80 degrees and sunny! It was so refreshing to feel the warmth and sunshine on my face, the slight smell of salt in the air, and just be in a new scenery for a little while. I headed out Monday and coming back tomorrow, Friday!

Love,
